Obesity has become one of the widespread health problems that governments have started to consider it as a cause of decreasing the gross productivity of the population and are starting health programs targeting obesity with other diseases. • Overeating: This is the main reason of getting caught by obesity. Overeating is eating food more than actually needed by human body. Fast food is the biggest reason of adapting the bad habit of over eating. Fast food is full of fat, sugar and sodium. The calories we take with any need are called empty calories. These unrequited calories are added to the body in the form of fat and cause increase in weight.
• Use of Alcohol: Alcohol as the part of Wine and beer is used in almost every society or social system. It gives high amount of calories and helps increasing fat.
• Inactivity: People have been becoming lazier for last two decades or three due to the inventions of life easing machines and devices. Use of machines reduces physical activity which is must for burning calories. Use of electronic machines like computers and video games has lessened the time spent in the ground. This is the main reason of Obesity in Children.
• Lack of sleep: An average of 7 hour sleep is needed for every human being. Life has become job oriented. People don’t have spare time for themselves and they cannot take proper sleep. This increases the hormones responsible for appetite.
• Stress: Stress also plays an important role in increasing body weight. Psychologists assume that a person in stress and strain eats more frequently than others and eat too much.
Prevention: Obesity can cause many diseases and disorders like Diabetes of Type-2, high risk of Heart Attack, cholesterol related disorders, high Blood Pressure and chances of developing some types of cancer. The best way to keep obesity away is to burn all the calories you take in the form of food. This can be done by Exercising daily for at least 30 minutes. Eat only low fat food. It doesn’t mean you cannot take high calorie food. Take it in small amounts. Plan your eating schedule by writing down what you eat and when. After some time you can see that there are situations you eat unnecessarily. Keep track of your weight by monitoring regularly. This will tell when to start taking precautions to prevent obesity.
